You probably noticed that our website was given the title "PhotographicArt" rather than "photography," or "photographs" or "photos." We decided on that title because we definitely are in the "school" of photographic artists rather than representational photography.
What we endeavor to accomplish is to display images on our web site that communicate to you, the viewer, not only what we saw when taking the photograph with our camera, but how we felt as well... what the image communicated to us at the time, rather than to simply record faithfully what our camera "saw" through the lens and recorded on the digital sensor.
We hope that viewing the results of our efforts brings to you even a fraction of the pleasure we had in finding and creating the images you see on these pages. It will only add to our pleasure should you choose to place any of these on the walls of your home or office so that you can enjoy them daily, or to give them as a gift to someone who is important to you.
Below we have attempted to put into words our philosophy about our photographic art.
Bill
"Sometimes I do get to places
just when God's ready for someone
to click the shutter."
~ Ansel Adams
With modern, digital cameras almost anyone can capture a beautiful scene that is pretty well exposed and in focus. But, how does one compose and capture that special scene or subject that has been photographed by thousands of people, and published in hundreds of publications and on many web sites, and then use the digital dark room to reveal something unique and special about that image that will have an impact on anyone who views it, and make it truly memorable? For this to happen, I believe the photographer has to be open and aware to the possibilities when going out into the field, and when first opening the image in his or her digital dark room. Only when we are truly present to the moment can something unique, extraordinary and indefinable happen. Only then do I reach a state of mind and have the potential to be "ready to click the shutter," and to discover and develop that exceptional image for which I am always searching.

"Look twice...
See the world differently."
Once I discovered photography, and found that photographic art is the medium with which I can express myself and show others what I see, not only with my eyes, but also with my mind and soul...I could not stop.
When I am creating an image in my digital darkroom...time stands still, and I am totally in the moment...sometimes in a totally different place. The image I capture in my camera is my starting point, the beginning of an exciting journey, the destination of which is unclear until I arrive, sometimes surprising and pleasing me.
Although I feel that I have only begun to plumb the depths of this incredible art form, my spirit is happy and my heart grateful as I continue this wonderful adventure.
